What Carpet Deep Cleaning Involves
Carpet holds soil in three places: loose grit on the surface, bonded soil within the pile, and residue at the base of the fibre near the backing. Domestic vacuuming addresses the first of these. Extraction addresses the other two.
We assess fibre type and carpet construction first — wool, nylon, polypropylene, polyester and blends respond differently to heat, moisture and detergent, as do loop, cut-pile, Berber and hand-knotted constructions. Method, solution strength and moisture level are matched to what is in front of us.
Included as Standard
Every carpet booking includes the following:
- Carpet fibre and construction assessment
- Colour-fastness and product-suitability testing
- Pre-vacuuming to lift dry soil and grit
- Spot treatment of identified marks before extraction
- Hot-water extraction across the full carpeted area
- Edges, corners and reachable perimeter work
- Odour-neutralising treatment where required
- Additional extraction passes to reduce residual moisture
When Carpet Extraction Is Worth Booking
Carpet benefits from periodic extraction rather than waiting for visible soiling.
Traffic Lanes
Darkened pathways through hallways, living areas and stairs.
Spills & Marks
Food, drink and pet accidents that have soaked into the pile.
Odour
Stale smells held in the pile and at the base of the fibre.
Move-In or Handover
A full extraction before occupancy or property handover.
How Carpet Deep Cleaning Is Carried Out
Assessment first. No solution touches the carpet until fibre and colour-fastness have been checked.
Fibre Assessment
We identify fibre type and carpet construction — wool, nylon, polypropylene, polyester or blend; loop, cut-pile or hand-knotted — along with backing and existing condition.
Suitability Testing
Colour-fastness and product suitability are tested on a discreet area. If the carpet is unsuitable for wet extraction we stop and discuss alternatives.
Pre-Vacuum
Dry soil and grit are removed first. Extracting without this step drives loose soil deeper into the pile.
Spot Treatment
Identified marks are pre-treated with products chosen for the stain type and fibre, and given dwell time before extraction.
Extraction & Moisture Removal
Heated solution is injected and drawn back out under vacuum, followed by additional dry passes to reduce residual moisture.
Why Choose Our Carpet Service
Professional extraction equipment, fibre-appropriate products and a method chosen for your carpet construction.
Our Service Commitment
If you raise a reasonable concern relating to the agreed cleaning scope, we will review it and, where appropriate, return to address it at no additional labour charge.
Fibre and Construction Assessed
Wool, nylon, polypropylene and blends behave differently. We identify what we are working with first.
Colour-Fastness Tested
A discreet test area confirms dye stability and product suitability before wider cleaning.
Pre-Vacuum Before Extraction
Dry soil is lifted first so wet cleaning does not drive grit deeper into the pile.
Professional Extraction Equipment
Hot-water extraction units, not domestic machines or surface shampooers.

How to Prepare
A few minutes of preparation lets the team work straight through.
- Clear small items, toys and floor clutter from carpeted rooms
- Move fragile, valuable or electronic items yourself
- Tell us which rooms are in scope and confirm access to each
- Point out stains, spills and problem areas to the technician
- Tell us about any previous treatments or DIY cleaning attempts
- Allow access to a power socket and water point
Furniture Movement
What the team will and will not move on the day.
- Light, easily moved furniture can be shifted by the team where safe to do so
- Heavy items — wardrobes, beds, large units, pianos — are not moved
- Carpet beneath furniture that stays in place is not cleaned
- We do not disconnect or reconnect appliances or electronics
Drying and Ventilation
Carpet is left damp, not saturated. As an estimate, most carpets are touch-dry within 4 to 10 hours under reasonable conditions. This is an estimate only and not a fixed or guaranteed drying time.
Drying is affected by ventilation, humidity, carpet thickness and pile density, and the level of soiling present. Thick wool, dense underlay and humid, unventilated rooms take considerably longer.
- Keep air conditioning or fans running after the clean
- Open windows where outdoor humidity allows
- Avoid heavy foot traffic until touch-dry
- Do not replace rugs or furniture on damp carpet — this can cause marking
Important Limitations and Exclusions
Best possible results are subject to carpet fibre, construction, stain type, stain age, prior treatment and pre-existing condition.
- Complete stain removal cannot be promised. Old, set-in and previously treated marks often cannot be fully lifted.
- Paint, adhesive, rust, bleach, dye transfer, ink and pet contamination may be permanent. Bleach and dye damage alter the fibre itself and cannot be cleaned out.
- Prior DIY treatment or supermarket products can leave residue that sets a stain or causes rapid resoiling.
- Odour reduction depends on the source. Contamination reaching the underlay or subfloor may persist after cleaning.
- Pre-existing wear, traffic-lane shading, fibre distortion, pile crush, discolouration and backing damage may become more visible once soil is removed.
- This is a cleaning service, not restoration, re-dyeing, repair, re-tufting or re-stretching.
- Drying times are estimates affected by ventilation, humidity, carpet thickness and soil level.
- Final pricing is confirmed after assessment of area, fibre, condition and agreed scope.

No. We pre-treat marks and achieve strong results on many of them, but complete removal cannot be promised. Old, set-in and previously treated stains often cannot be fully lifted. Paint, adhesive, rust, bleach, dye transfer, ink and pet contamination may be permanent — bleach and dye damage alter the fibre itself and cannot be cleaned out.
Odour reduction depends on the source. Where contamination has reached the underlay or subfloor, odour may persist after cleaning because the source sits below the carpet rather than in it. We will assess and advise honestly before starting.

Removing soil can reveal what was already there. Pre-existing wear, traffic-lane shading, fibre distortion, pile crush, discolouration and backing damage may become more visible once the carpet is clean. This is exposure of existing condition, not damage caused by cleaning.
