DEEP CLEANING EXPLAINED
Regular Cleaning vs Deep Cleaning: What Actually Changes
It is the question we are asked more than any other on WhatsApp: what is the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean, and why does one cost several times more than the other?
The honest answer is that they are not the same service performed at different speeds. They have different objectives, different equipment, and a different definition of “finished”. Knowing which one your property actually needs will save you money — and stop you paying for a deep clean when a maintenance clean would have done the job.

REGULAR CLEANING
Maintaining a standard
A regular or maintenance clean keeps an already-clean property in good order. The team works to a predictable checklist across visible, reachable surfaces: floors vacuumed and mopped, kitchen and bathroom surfaces wiped and sanitised, beds made, bins emptied, glass and mirrors finished.
It is fast, repeatable and priced by the visit. What it does not do is address build-up that has formed over months.

DEEP CLEANING
Resetting the property
A deep clean resets the property to a baseline. It reaches what routine cleaning never touches: inside and behind appliances, extractor filters, grout and limescale, skirting, door frames, switch plates, vents, tracks and runners, and the soft furnishings that hold dust and odour.
It is equipment-led rather than cloth-led, takes a team several hours, and is priced by the size and condition of the property.
Side by side
| Regular clean | Deep clean | |
|---|---|---|
| Objective | Maintain a clean home between visits | Reset the property to a baseline |
| Typical frequency | Weekly, fortnightly or monthly | Two to four times a year, or when a property changes hands |
| Surfaces covered | Visible and easily reached | Visible, concealed, high level and behind fittings |
| Kitchen | Worktops, sink, exterior of appliances | Interior of oven, fridge and microwave, extractor filter, cabinet fronts and interiors, tiles and grout |
| Bathrooms | Wipe and sanitise, mirrors and fittings | Limescale removal, grout, shower screens, drains and extractor vents |
| Soft furnishings | Vacuumed | Deep steam cleaning of sofas, mattresses, carpets and curtains where the material is suitable |
| Behind and under furniture | Usually not moved | Moved where it is safe to do so, and cleaned behind |
| Equipment | Vacuum, cloths and general-purpose products | Deep steam machines, filtered vacuums and fabric-specific solutions |
| Typical time on site | A few hours | Half a day to a full day, depending on size and team |
When you actually need a deep clean
- Moving in or out. Handover condition is assessed closely, and a deep clean is usually what stands between you and a returned deposit.
- After construction, fit-out or renovation. Fine dust keeps settling for weeks after the work finishes and needs filtered vacuuming, not sweeping.
- Before starting a regular schedule. A first deep clean sets the baseline that routine visits then maintain, which usually works out cheaper over a year.
- When build-up has outrun routine cleaning. Limescale on glass and fittings, grout discolouration, odour in upholstery, dust in vents and tracks.
- Before or after guests, and seasonally. Particularly ahead of a handover, a listing, or the start of a tenancy.
Dubai adds its own pressures. Fine desert dust travels in through balconies and air conditioning, hard water leaves limescale on glass and chrome faster than many residents expect, and humidity keeps moisture in mattresses, sofas and curtains. Properties here typically need a reset sooner than the same home would elsewhere.
Why Fiza Prime is a notch above

- Equipment, not just effort. Deep steam machines and filtered vacuums — not domestic machines or surface shampooers. Most of what separates a deep clean from a hard scrub is the equipment behind it.
- Assessed before it is cleaned. Fabric type and colour-fastness are tested on a small, discreet area first. If a material is unsuitable for deep steam, we tell you and stop rather than risk your furniture.
- Trained and vetted teams. Uniformed, briefed on the agreed scope before they arrive, and working to it rather than improvising on the day.
- Scope agreed before work begins. You know what is included and what is not before anyone starts, with clear starting prices published rather than quoted on the doorstep.
- Honest about limits. Some staining and deeply absorbed odour cannot be fully removed. We say so in advance instead of promising a result we cannot deliver.
- We check the work with you. The team walks the finished property with you. If you raise a reasonable concern relating to the agreed cleaning scope, we will review it and, where appropriate, return to address it at no additional labour charge.
Not sure which one you need?
Send a few photos of the rooms or upholstery on WhatsApp with your area and property size. We will tell you honestly whether a deep clean is warranted, and come back with a clear price.
