A move-out clean is easiest to manage when the property is empty, utilities are working and the required handover scope is agreed before the team arrives. This checklist helps tenants, owners and agents prepare a Dubai apartment or villa for a final cleaning visit.
Confirm the handover requirements first
Ask the landlord, agent or building management whether they have a specific inspection checklist. Cleaning can improve the property’s presentation, but no cleaning company can guarantee a deposit return or inspection approval because those decisions rest with the landlord, agent or building management.
- Confirm the key-return and inspection dates.
- Arrange lift access, loading access and parking.
- Keep electricity and water connected until cleaning is complete.
- Remove personal belongings, food and unwanted items.
- Report repairs, leaks, damage, pests or mould separately.
Kitchen handover checklist
- Worktops, splashbacks, sinks and taps
- Hob, extractor and accessible filters
- Oven interior when included in the quotation
- Refrigerator interior when empty, switched off and agreed
- Cupboards, drawers and shelves inside and outside
- Floors, skirting, doors, frames, switches and sockets
Bathrooms and utility areas
- Sanitary ware, shower fittings and mirrors
- Shower glass and accessible tiled surfaces
- Visible soap residue and removable limescale
- Cabinets and shelves when emptied
- Floor edges, corners and drainage areas
Permanent limescale etching, damaged grout, failed silicone and pre-existing marks may remain after cleaning and should be recorded before handover.

- Wardrobes and built-in storage inside and outside
- Doors, frames, skirting, switches and sockets
- Internal glass, mirrors and accessible sliding tracks
- Floors vacuumed and cleaned using a suitable method

What requires a separate service
Carpet extraction, curtain cleaning and furnished-property upholstery cleaning should be listed separately. Repairs, painting, handyman work, pest control, AC duct cleaning, rubbish removal, facade cleaning and height-access work are not automatically part of a move-out cleaning scope.
Final walkthrough
Walk through the property with the cleaning team before they leave. Check the agreed scope room by room and raise reasonable concerns while the team is still present. Photograph the finished property for your own handover records.
